Hell Creek Marina, has without question the best fishing anywhere, and the Most helpful, knowledgeable, staff is there with a solution to your needs. I've stayed there twice. Worth everything we spent. Clint Thomas and family are phenomenal hosts, and again, there staff was gracious and helpful. Gas, small store w/essentials, bait, tackle, fishing info. I haven't done any hunting, but I did watch Clint get ready for the season, and if that was any indication, I wish I would have. Don't be shy!
Is there 26 miles of dirt road to get to this hidden oasis - YES - is it worth it DEFINITELY. Great people, great fishing, beautiful scenery. The road has been greatly improved, but with any dirt road take your own precautions. I love this area - we go back every chance we get.
We lost 2 tires, boat trailer fenders (2), broken light fixtures/blinds on the RV.
Also, it took 1.5 hours to get there from Jordan. We will never be back until the road is paved.
ROAD IS IMPASSIBLE.
road is a little long on the gravel side but hey the journey is WELL worth it. Fishing is awesome cabins are great. All the facilities are very good nice big fish cleaning station even. Went there once last spring and scheduled several more for this year.
I had an amazing experience out there. My boat broke down first thing in the morning. I took it up to the store at hell creek, and clint came out and just started working on it for me without me even asking. He was more concerned about getting me out on the water than anything else. it took about 3 hours for him to figure out what was wrong with my boat. I couldn't be more grateful for what he did for me. I also rented a cabin out there for the night, and it was fantastic as well. had a full kitchen, satellite tv, monster deck with a bbq that they provide. I highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a fantastic experience on fort peck lake.
If you feel that destroying your boat, truck, and rv is worth "the possibility" of catching some nice walleye, then this is the place for you!
This all happened while traveling no more than 10 mph on the 25 miles of gravel, aka washboard.
